Title: I Will Wait Author: Cathey Scully Rating: PG-13 Category: R, V, A Keywords: Mulder/Scully Romance, Sequel to Only Lonely Spoilers: Trust No 1 Summary: “I'll be there waiting for you. In the morning when times have changed. I'll be there through the lies and all.” ~Sequel to Only Lonely Archive: If you want, just tell me where so Mulder and I can visit. Feedback: Please! CatheyScully@the-pentagon.com or Scully@ga.prestige.net Disclaimer: Mulder, Scully, and William aren’t mine. The Title and the summary also belong to Hootie and the Blowfish; the song is “I Will Wait.” Don’t bother suing me, because all you’ll get is a very irritable/bitchy, broke teenager, and her “lawyer”. Notes: Hey! I finally managed to come up with a sequel to Only Lonely. I guess this could be the start of the Hootie Series, considering both stories are based on Hootie songs. Thanks: To everyone who demanded a sequel to the first fic, and to Jamie for betaing and picking out the glaring mistakes.. * ~ * God she was miserable. Miraculously, she’d made it through Christmas without him, but yet it was Valentine’s Day, a holiday that meant virtually nothing to anyone but card and candy companies, and here she was falling apart. In her heart she knew that this was better. She’d rather have him be alive and separated from her than have him dead. That much was a given. Still though, she felt cheated as she strolled with William to the Internet café they had begun to frequent. As she pushed William’s stroller, Scully watched the seemingly endless supply of happy, amorous couples as they kissed and hugged freely in public. Part of her welled up with jealousy, but the other part simply cried for all the lost opportunities she and Mulder had. Scully rounded a corner and pushed the door open to the Internet café. Her grimace was noticeable as she took in the festive pink, red and white decorations. Making her way to the counter, she greeted Laia, the kind college student who was almost always working when she came in. Laia heated up William’s bottle while she got Scully her usual mocha latte with low cal milk and light foam. She sat at her usual terminal and blinked at the garish valentine background that had been incorporated onto the desktop. After logging into her email, she was relieved to see the normal blue and white tones of hotmail’s inbox. Scully scrolled to the bottom, looking for new messages. Except for a question from one of her students and an offer that guaranteed to enlarge her penis 3 to 4 inches, there were no new messages, and certainly none that interested her. Of course there was no word from Mulder. He couldn’t take the chance of being found out again. She couldn’t let him take that chance. Scully’s attention was diverted as William’s bottle hit the floor. She turned, a smile lifting her lips. Lifting the bottle, Scully passed it back to William. He refused it. “Okay, I get it. Somebody wants a little attention,” Scully bent over and lifted William into her arms. She took the bottle with one hand and nudged his lips with the rubber nipple. He took it greedily and Scully chuckled. “Just like your daddy.” After William finished eating, Scully stroked the soft peach fuzz on his head. A few moments later, after fighting it, the baby drifted off to sleep. Scully waited a few minutes before dashing off a short letter to Mulder and signing out of her email. She settled William back into his stroller and gathered her things. Giving one last look at the computer terminal, she pushed William’s stroller out of the café. She called a goodbye to Laia and made her way home. William was awake and fussy by the time they got home. Scully tried to shush him while she slipped the key into the lock. She shifted him tighter against her to try and keep him from squirming out of her arms as she pushed the door open. Entering the apartment, Scully gasped as she came face to face with Fox Mulder. End. Hehe, I’m actually thinking there might be another one, but only if you tell me what you think. CatheyScully@the-pentagon.com or Scully@ga.prestige.net
